Miguel Cotto wins by TKO

Miguel Cotto made a triumphant return to New York City and the championship ranks by pummeling and then taking Michael Jennings out on a TKO at 2:36 of the fifth round to win the WBO welterweight title before a huge crowd at Madison Square Garden Saturday night. Cotto entered the ring in his Marc Ecko-designed robe and came out swinging. By making quick work of Jennings, he confirmed his standing as one of the elite boxers in the welterweight division. “When I came out and saw this crowd tonight, it was great,” Cotto (33-1, 27 KOs) said. “[I came] back into the ring, and studied my opponent for the first couple rounds. I began to go to the body and the head, and then started to let my hands go. I hit him with some good shots. That kid has a lot of strength.”.” Cotto finished Jennings off in the fifth round with a right to the jaw that knocked him to the ground. Jennings made it to his feet again, but referee Benji Estevez had seen enough and stopped the fight. In the co-feature of the evening, Irish middleweight John Duddy (26-0, 17 KOs) scored a 10-round unanimous decision over Matt Vanda (39-9, 22 KOs).

Ecko Run-DMC Hollis Crew Anniversary Tee By Peter Marco

About a month ago, we mentioned that the legendary hip-hop group Run-DMC's 25th anniversary party, held at the Ecko headquarters, was a huge success. At the star-studded event, artwork from Peter Marco and others was auctioned off and 100 of Marco's limited edition Run-DMC Hollis Crew Anniversary tees were sold. So, due to the continued demand, Ecko has produced 1000 more.  Marco Art's infamous "Boombox" graphic is the focus of the tee and if that's not enough to send you clamoring for one, this might...a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Jam Master Jay Foundation. Yes kids, you can get your very own Ecko Marco Hollis Crew Quarter Century Anniversary tee for $24 right HERE.

MARC ECKO LAUNCHES EXCLUSIVE PREMIUM STREETWEAR COLLECTION

American fashion designer Marc Ecko will launch an Italian-made collection for Fall 2009...Marc Ecko Prescription. A unique collaboration with Italian fashion house Montezemolo, resulted in a collection combining Marc's personal art and edgy design sense with experimental textures and European tailoring.

Marc founded Ecko Unltd. in 1993 using clothing as a way of getting his are "out there". Marc said "Today I have an art studio that serves as my lab. The Prescription collection has enabled me to disseminate my art without the rules and restrictions of mass production. I could be hand- on with each piece and tweak it in a way that it reflects my vibe in an authentic way. Each piece in the collection is loaded with its own personality, which offers a sort of journey and sense of discovery to my customer. It is like doing a blog or keeping a diary in fabric and needle work rather than paper and pencil."

The line will include outerwear, tailored jackets (blazers) with coordinated vests, woven shirts, knit tops, cargo and dress pants and reversible cashmere sweaters. In addition there will be a numbered and signed range of handcrafted accessories like belts and flasks. Each piece will feature elements unique to this collection, ranging from a prescription pill button to vegetable dyed fabrics, with retailers able to customize elements of the collection to appeal to their particular consumer. Marc Ecko Prescription will be sold through select men’s boutiques in the United States and Internationally.
